to Wigtown Agricultural Society's website. A committee of volunteers arranges the annual Wigtown Show which
this year takes place on Wednesday 1st August.
Last year our Society celebrated it's Bicentenary
and the show (the oldest in our region) was blessed with perfect weather and a visit from The Princess Royal. The
showfield was packed with trade exhibitors, the craft and food marquees were full and livestock entries were up in all
sections. Galloway cattle were out in force as we proudly hosted their Society's National Show. An
excellent Poultry Show, displays of pigs, alpacas, owls and spinning and main ring entertainment from Jive Pony and the
local Police Dogs entertained the crowds all day long. There REALLY was something for everyone at Wigtown Show!
We are relient on many volunteers and financial support to enable the show to go ahead every year and be enjoyed
